Why Mission Kindness?
The reason why Mission Kindness…
In today’s chaotic world, it’s sometimes hard to reach outside of ourselves and give a little peace of what we have to brighten someone’s day. A gesture, a smile, a helping hand or a kind word is sometimes all it takes to change a person’s bad day to good.
With words of war and recession filling the media waves, it’s easy to escape within our own dramas and traumas, buying into the fears of what may come. Self-absorption, and hiding in our iPhones, iPods, Internet and TVs closes our hearts and minds to the kindness and compassion of life.
It seems that we have forgotten our connection to the world, each other and everything on this planet, hiding within the realms of our own generated self-perceptions and following the path of one or more of the deadly sins. Anger, Greed, Sloth, Pride, Lust, Envy and Gluttony—which one or combination do you practice?
The good Book says it’s better to give than to receive. But to give does not mean you will not get, for in giving you receive so much more. Compassion, Generosity, Humanity, Love, Kindness and Empathy can be given without cost, but with so much personal and spiritual gain.
Being kind to the world is as much a habit as just about anything else can be. Habits are formed by repetition, so to be kind you have to be kind! By practicing Random Acts of Kindness every day for at least twelve days, you will soon find the habit of giving of yourself and feeling great about it a daily occurrence. You can change the world—one kind act at a time!
Take the Random Acts of Kindness Challenge… What you gain inside will far outweigh the small, sometime innocuous gesture you do to brighten someone’s day!
